People will do just about anything to keep from aging. They don’t care that it happens to everyone and it’s completely inevitable. They are going do anything they can to stay as beautiful as they can. But many anti-aging methods are dangerous and do more harm than good. Here are some simple things you can do to slow down the aging process.


I know, I know. This is pretty aggressive right out of the gate. But make no mistake, alcohol is bad for you! It dehydrates you which can damage collagen, cause blemishes, and even loosen your skin. So cut back if you can and drink more water! Water is, of course, very good for you.


Exfoliation is great for your skin. But some people go way to hard with it. Exfoliating your skin is good as it removes dead skin cells and allows for new skin to be developed more quickly, but your skin is still delicate and needs to be treated as such. So never do it more than once or twice a day and be gentle!


This may seem obvious, but many people don’t get enough sleep. And that can be terrible for your skin. This is about full body health and letting your body recharge itself. A lack of sleep will most definitely lead to premature aging. So get that beauty sleep!


Many women wear makeup and of course, that’s fine. But wearing it all day every day can be very bad for your skin. So try to find a good couple days worth of time where your skin is free of makeup and chemicals and allowed to breathe. The air alone is good for the pores. But if your outside, be careful and protect your skin with some sunscreen. Obviously.


The chemicals in cigarette smoke actually decrease the flow of blood to your face. That doesn’t sound very good, does it? Also, smokers tend to squint while smoking to keep the smoke from getting in their eyes. This can lead to the last thing anyone wants: crow’s feet! And we don’t have to mention the damage cigarettes can do your lungs. So stop smoking already! You can do it, I believe in you.


You heard me. Some of them are perfectly fine to use and actually work! Just make sure you find the right one as some of them can still be bad for you. The most important ingredient they should have is retinol as it is proven to help reduce wrinkles and age spots. Anything without retinol in it isn’t worth your time or your money.

So add these simple steps into your routine if you want to get serious about fighting the aging process. But, more than anything, remember that it does happen to everyone and it is perfectly normal. So whatever you do, don’t get carried away or obsessed with staying young. Cause it just ain’t gonna happen.
