Nothing Can Stop GOT Star Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke, better known as Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s hit “Game of Thrones,” recently revealed she overcame two, near fatal Brain Aneurysms.

On April 17th, 2011, TV viewers got their first taste of George R.R. Martin’s best-selling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” in visual form. Since that fateful day, HBO’s hit “Game of Thrones” drama series has become one of the network’s biggest and most successful shows. With the final episode set to air on May 19th, 2019, viewers have been kept busy by the show’s unexpected and “glorious” action and deceit for eight years.

In the show, Emilia Clarke who plays Daenerys Targaryen has survived through numerous close encounters and battles. She’s practically invincible. However, in real life, Clarke was living a drastically different experience.

The New Yorker

Recently, Clarke released an emotional essay in “The New Yorker” that conveyed her experience with two concurrent brain aneurysms (which required immediate surgery) and the near-death toll it took on her.

During the early days, Clarke was in the midst of a workout when she began to fall tremendously ill. “I immediately felt as though an elastic band were squeezing my brain. I tried to ignore the pain and push through it, but I just couldn’t. I told my trainer I had to take a break. Somehow, almost crawling, I made it to the locker room. I reach the toilet, sank to my knees, and proceeded to be violently, voluminously ill. Meanwhile, the pain-shooting, stabbing, constricting pain – was getting worse. At some level, I knew what was happening: my brain was damaged.”

Not soon after, Clarke was taken to Whittington Hospital in London in which an MRI revealed the source of her misfortune. “The diagnosis was quick and ominous: a subarachnoid heorrahe (SAH), a life-threatening type of stroke, caused by bleeding into the space surrounding the brain.”

Aphasia

During her time in the ICU, she even experienced a mild form of aphasia – the inability to form logical or coherent sentences.

In 2013, a second (yet smaller) aneurysm appeared during a brain scan. At the time, Clarke was performing on Broadway in New York. Her second surgery was a horribly failed operation as Clarke woke up during the procedure “screaming in pain.”

“I had a massive bleed and the doctors made it plain that my chances of surviving were precarious if they didn’t operate again. This time they needed to access my brain in an old-fashioned way- through my skull. And the operation had to happen immediately.

Thankfully, Clarke has since fully recovered after the second attempt of her second surgery. Still, at the time, the effects on the beautiful actress were especially felt during season 2. “On the set, I didn’t miss a beat, but I struggled. Season 2 would be my worst. I didn’t know what Daenerys was doing. If I am truly being honest, every minute of every day I thought I was going to die.”

Turn Your Extra Rice Into Something More

Published

on

Rice is best paired with any of the viands you can think of, whether it’s vegetables or meat. It goes so well with anything. Without rice, sometimes, we feel unsatisfied; thus, we still feel hungry. However, you can turn rice into something you want it to be! Fried rice, for example, yet, it is not the basic ones; you can add something into it to make it more delicious and mouth-watering.

Depending on your position, leftover takeout rice can be the bane of your existence or a blessing. For most of us, it’s the latter. Extras such as these are the foundation for a superb reinvented supper, namely fried rice.

Fried rice is an excellent weeknight feed, whether you want to extemporize with what’s already in your kitchen or have a specific project. Here are some recipes from our archives, which are great as written and easy enough to achieve. They’re so great; you might find yourself ending up ordering more rice just to make them.

Fried rice with broccoli and mustard greens

A vegetable-loaded version uses a sharp technique that has you cook the ingredients in steps, which is especially helpful if you don’t have a wok or large skillet.

Better than takeout fried rice

Sometimes, there are similarities between what you might get if you ordered fried rice, but we prefer the freshness and crunch of homemade. The ginger and red pepper flakes are making it sound, too.

Sesame fried rice with spring vegetables and egg

Brown rice binds more nourishment into the stir-fry, and fried eggs mean you can mix in a runny yolk for an extra-luxurious texture.

Garlic fried rice (Chahan)

This is for garlic lovers; celebrate because you’ll fry a few cloves for this recipe. It calls for short-grain Japanese rice, so here’s an ideal recipe for making a cut in any sushi rice you may get.

Vegetable fried rice

This recipe helps you with extra brown rice. Other than that, it will also get you to reinvent those broccoli stems instead of throwing them away or doing the same recipe over and over again.

Quick ham-fried rice with lavender

This is clearly off the hidden path, but the floral flavor plays well with the pork, ginger, and raisins.

Spicy basil tofu fried rice

A stir-fry for one that recommends making a baked marinated tofu for extra flavor and thick texture. You can also swap in plain extra-firm tofu.

African soul fried rice.

Food writer and culinary historian Michael Twitty is the source of this vivid dish that includes traditional or indigenous ingredients to West and Central Africa.

Those are just some of the recipes you may use for converting your plain rice into something more tasty. Avoid food waste, get what you can consume. If we can’t avoid leftover foods, let’s not leave it. Let’s transform it.

Beauty Secret: Mirror Mirror On The Wall Who Is The Hottest Mom Of Them All

Published

on

Moms are often associated as tired looking, laid back, home-focused ladies. Most people would think that being a mom means surrendering your beauty and youth and offering it all to your children, but that is not the case for Joleen Diaz. Find out more about her and her secrets below:

What would you do if your mom is hot? Will you post it on social media like Joleen Diaz’s daughter did to their pic at the seashore? Showing off their beautiful tanned skins and barbie-looking facial features, which is something that they should be proud of.

Joleen Diaz, a 43-year-old mom who is a resident from the Bay Area who made Instagram burn in flames earlier this year after her daughter posted a picture of her on social media.

After going viral, the Instagram-dubbed “Hottest Mom in the World” spoke to Fox News about her sudden, surprising fame and — perhaps most importantly — shared the skincare and fitness secrets behind her impressive fresh looks.

“I’ve been taking care of myself from such a young age; I didn’t just start five years ago,” Joleen said.

Hope doesn’t disappear for those who just started taking care of themselves. Joleen, who is excited to inspire people to live a healthy life and make healthy choices, insists that it’s never too late to start your wellness journey.

  • Diet

Joleen Diaz maintains a whole-food-focused diet, asserting that she doesn’t eat red meat or pork and sticks but mostly to fish and eggs. She also keeps a strict fitness regimen, carving out time for workouts five to six days per week. But according to her, her secret is just to keep the routines basic, so you’ll not be too lazy to achieve it.

  • Exercise

She does thirty to forty minutes of cardio and change that up when she wants to, to how she wanted to. After that, it is up to her to add some twenty-minute stretching for her muscles.

  • Skin Care

As for her glowing and youthful skin, the hot mom reveals she “notices change” when she uses an AHA glycine, an exfoliator that can help skin appear smoother, and a retinol serum started using in her 30s.

She noticed the texture of her skin get fresh and kind of plump. Last year, year and a half, she’s been using tretinoin and saw her pores tighten, and her visible fine lines on her face fade.

Though Diaz keeps a pretty fit lifestyle and doesn’t smoke and seldom drinks, she does have at least one guilty pleasure.

She loves sugar and takes too much control of it. Yet, she only looks for sugar as a stress moderator.

Every day, she has to have a piece of cake or cookies or something, but just in like a small portion. She loves sweets. She indulges every day. But more than anything, Diaz says her looks and physique come from consistency.

Consistency from her skincare routine, fitness journey, and things will make everything all right and feel right for her mind and body. As a woman, you need to satisfy yourself with the things you do; if you want to achieve something, you will take action to achieve it, whether it’s necessary or out of this world.

“Most days I’d rather stay home and take a nap, but I get up and go to the gym,” she said.

Joleen believes in consistency to stay fit, hot, and Instagram ready.

The World’s Best Tequila

Published

on

Among the hundreds of entries in that particular category, one brand dominated: El Tesoro.

Incredibly, this highland raiser gained at least a gold in every major category of the spirit. In fully blind judging, this sort of success rate is unbelievable. Let’s hear more about this.

El Tesoro is made and produced at the historic La Alteña facility in Arandas, Mexico. It was built in 1937 by legendary craftsman Don Felipe Camarena. A pioneer of the tequila category, he was among the first to acknowledge the agave’s pourable potential grown in the mineral-rich soils of ‘Los Altos’. Today the operation is under the hands of his grandson, Carlos Camarena.

The contemporary Camarena raises his liquids, utilizing an array of quality-driven production techniques.

For example, all the liquid is extricated from the cooked agave under the weight of a two-ton stone wheel known as a ‘tahona’. It enhances flavor potential by keeping the pulp and fibers in solution before fermentation. The rounded bottle cap from the brand’s newly redesigned packaging is intended as a miniaturized replica of the ancient tool.

El Tesoro also comes from a hundred percent estate-grown agave, plowed just outside the stillhouse at an elevation of 6,000 feet. So he can have a personal hand in assuring the fruity and floral tonalities for which his spirit is renowned. This means that as the liquid whirls off the still, it is ready to be bottled or barreled right there. No water or sugar is combined.

All elements present in the production are designed to increase the agave rather than suppress it. This is crucial in Camarena’s aged tequilas. Although they might not look as pleasing in the bottle as their burgundy-hued counterparts, this is very much a hallmark, not an imperfection. He relies mainly on neutral barrels, never overplaying the oak, always seeking to maintain the balance between the earthy, mineral forward components of the distillate, and the cooperage’s caramel quality.

This changing stability is perhaps Camarena’s secret weapon. She was supported by the fact that his añejo took home the prestigious Double Gold in February. It was one of only two that the ISC awarded, from a list of seven hundred twenty-four entries.

The following are a few parting thoughts from an industry professional:

“We’ve come a long way from the days of tequila being that mistake you made one time in college. Now it’s all about premium, and El Tesoro is a brand that delivers across the entire country.”

With that said, the price point for the Blanco is still malleable. El Tesoro Añejo Tequila typically retails for around $55. And that what makes El Tesoro the best tequila in the whole world. All fresh and natural ingredients produced satisfying alcohol for everyone. Does this make you interested in buying?
