The Surprising Benefits Of Essential Oils

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last two or three years, you’ve heard plenty about essential oils. They’re all the rage right now! And even if you already think you know a lot about these wonderful oils, there are still some benefits of them that you might be aware of. Well, don’t fret, because you’re about to be aware of them! Here are some unexpected ways that you can use essential oils around the house to improve your life.

Essential oils can be a real money-saver when it comes to keeping your carpet clean. Don’t bother with getting them professionally cleaned all the time. Just mix around 30 drops of a fresh-smelling oil with two cups of baking soda and sprinkle it around the carpet or even a rug. From there, let it sit for a couple hours, then vacuum the surface you covered. It’s that simple!

We don’t have to beat around the bush, here… the bathroom is one of the stinkiest places in your home. And while various plug-ins and potpourri bowls can do the trick, just a few drops of your favorite scented oil is all you need. Just sneak a few drops on the inside of the toilet paper roll whenever you put a new one in the holder to keep the whole bathroom feeling fresh and light.

This may not make a lot of sense, but it’s actually kind of genius. Because you will, for the most part, use your vacuum cleaner around the entire house, but dropping some essential oils in there, you’re practically freshening up the whole house. By dropping your favorite oil in the filter or canister you’ll be releasing that scent through your home and have the whole place smelling fresh as ever!

Dryer balls are a new product that replaces those dryer sheets that create so much waste. Instead, simply invest in a reusable dryer ball that you can drop some clean-smelling essential oils on and throw it in with your load. Five or six drops should do it. And you’re cutting down on waste while you’re at it!

This one blew me away when I first heard it. It turns out lemon essential oil is a more effect stain remover than almost every single stain remover product out there! All you have to do is put a few drops on the stain, rub it in with your fingers for a bit, then wash it. Be careful with whites though, it can leave a slight discoloration.
