But thankfully for all of us, some trainers recently shared some simple but effective ways in which you can speed up your weight loss. Who wouldn’t love to lose weight faster?! No one. That’s the answer. So follow these five easy steps to ditch that unwanted weight as fast as possible!
CONSISTENCY IS KEY
This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Losing weight and staying in shape requires consistently working out, eating healthy, getting enough sleep, and just plain taking care of yourself. But obviously, this is a problem for many of us. That’s why it’s on this list! Literally just being more consistent than you’ve ever been in regards to healthy behavior can help you lose weight faster. Makes sense, doesn’t it?!
Some easy ways you can do this is by prepping your meals for the week on Sunday and scheduling out your workouts to make sure you actually get them in. If you’re having trouble sticking with a workout routine, things like paying for a gym membership to pressure yourself to go more often or taking a fitness class with a friend to make it more fun always help.
STEP IT UP A NOTCH
If you’re looking to lose weight fast, increasing the intensity of your regular workout routine is a great way to speed up the process. When you do the same workout routine every day for months and months, your body gets used to it and the workout stops actually contributing to progress. By stepping it up a notch you’re much more likely to burn more calories. And you can always pick intense workouts that specifically target the areas you’d like to lose weight.
HIT THE WEIGHTS
A lot of people, especially women, tend to avoid any sort of weight training as they don’t want to get too muscular. But weight training has been proven to increase bone density and build lean muscle. It’s also a great workout if you’re looking for something to push yourself with and burn those calories faster.
More specifically, cardio strength training can be amazing when you’re looking to lose weight fast. You’ll burn calories and fat while building lean muscle, which takes up less space in your body than fat. It’s almost too good to be true!
GET YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP
Many, and I mean many people do not get enough sleep. And this can drastically affect your weight loss efforts. Not getting enough sleep has been proven to increase a person’s hunger hormones, which means you’re going to eat more throughout the day. And your body will specifically crave sugar in this scenario. Which can be deadly when trying to lose weight.
Also, sleep allows your body to recover. So if your muscles are sore from a hard workout during the day, but you don’t get a healthy night’s sleep, your muscles won’t properly recover, making your workout more difficult the next day. So make time to sleep and try to get a good routine going where you fall asleep and wake up around the same time every day.
DITCH ANYTHING PROCESSED AND WHITE!
This is huge. If you’re really serious about losing weight, you’re going to have to cut out all processed foods, white sugars, and refined white flours. Foods that are heavy in these will lead to high insulin levels which means your body won’t bother tapping into it’s stored fat. So stick to unprocessed foods: fruits and veggies, nuts, lean proteins, and healthy carbs like quinoa, oats, potatoes and brown rice.
