Sometimes it just doesn’t matter how hard we try to live a healthy life, we’re still going to run into minor ailments and wellness issues. It’s just nature, folks! But don’t beat yourself up over it and don’t turn to ridiculous and mysterious quick fixes or cure-alls. There are completely simple and natural remedies at your disposal! LEMON WATER

I don’t know about you, but I keep hearing more and more about hot water with lemon. Doesn’t seem like it could do that much, does it? But studies have shown that drinking some hot water with lemon every morning can dramatically help your digestive system because lemons actually provide a healthy amount of alkaline which helps balance your body’s pH levels.

Not to mention it can provide great amounts of the d-limonene antioxidant and vitamin C. All of this combined can do wonders for your digestive system. Because when it’s not working at it’s best, your more prone to heartburn, bloating, and sluggishness.

MILK!

And I’m not just talking about strong bones here, people. Milk actually contains certain enzymes that can work wonders on bug bites! That’s right, I said bug bites. No matter how much bug spray we use and citronella candles we light, we still can’t completely avoid bug bites. But simply soaking a cotton ball in a water/milk mixture can greatly help diminish the itching.

MEDITATION

Sadly, meditation is still mocked and laughed at by many as a silly, hippie, worthless practice. But doing it, really doing it, can really help you relax, focus, and concentrate. We’re exposed to so much these days, so giving your mind and your body the opportunity to just slow down and breath can be huge. You really only need about 5-10 minutes at the minimum to get a good meditation session in, too. Just find a comfortable, quiet spot and shut it all out.

MINT

It’s more than just candy, folks! Peppermint is actually a sneaky little sinus opener! Why do you think so many inhalers and balms and rubs have mint in them? It’s because it’s a natural decongestant. The best way to take advantage of it is to simply boil a bowl of mint leaves in some water and inhale the steam.

HONEY

Allergies. It seems like we all have some variation of them these days and they continue to drive us crazy. But it turns out a little honey, naturally and locally produced, of course, can do wonders for relieving all of your classic allergy symptoms. And literally, all you have to do is eat a tablespoon of honey every day. It’s that simple!
