Ask any mom and they’ll tell you the same thing about being a mother: it’s a full-time job. It doesn’t matter if you have five kids or just one, it completely consumes every minute of every day. So it’s very difficult to find any time to fit in a workout. But there are plenty of small things you moms can do during your daily routine to stay fit and healthy. Check ‘em out.

DEFINE YOUR CALVES WHILE YOU MAKE BREAKFAST

Most mornings you’ll spend at least ten minutes standing in the kitchen while you make breakfast for your kids. But it’s also the perfect opportunity to do some calf raises. It doesn’t have to slow you down and it’s a great way to make everything think you’re an avid runner with some perfectly toned calves!

WORK THOSE ABS WHILE YOUR COFFEE BREWS

What would moms do without coffee? But waiting for the coffee to brew is the perfect time to sneak in a little ab workout. You can easily sneak in 30 seconds of high knees, 30 seconds of squats, and 30 seconds of side bends while you wait for that all important caffeine to be brewed to perfection.

BURP THE BABY THEN BURPEE YOURSELF

Everyone remembers burpees! We hate them when we were kids, but they’re still a great workout. And you really only need to do them for about five minutes to get the full benefit. Trust me, I know how valuable a free five minutes can be for a mother, but if you can sneak these in 3-4 times a week you’ll be happy you did.

DRIVE YOURSELF TO FITNESS

Moms, unfortunately, spend way too much of their time in the car. Whether they’re dropping the kids at school or running any number of errands, the car is basically a mom’s second home. But you can get a workout while you wait for the kids to get out of school or even while you’re waiting at that red light!

Keep a tennis ball in your car and squeeze it between your legs for a few seconds 10-15 times. Or hold it in your hand a squeeze it to work your forearms. Or simply bring your belly button towards your spine and hold it for 30-45 seconds to work your core. It’s that easy!

A RESISTANCE BAND CAN BE YOUR BEST FRIEND

Similar to sneaking in some burpees wherever you can, using a resistance band whenever you can steal a few minutes is an easy way to give your body a good workout in a small window. You can put it under your feet and do some bicep curls. Or simply stretch it out as wide as you can between your hands and raise it overhead.

I know you’ve got more than enough on your table every single day, but you can still fit in a few of these workouts if you really want to! In the end, it’s all up to you. But based on how hard you work to be a good mother, we know you can do this too!
